Today I worked at the food bank sorting food into boxes that then get shipped off to the local pantries.  The group of seniors I worked with have all been volunteering at the food bank for 2 years or more, which was inspiring to hear.  While I volunteered, I learned a great deal about the Greater Lansing Food Bank. For example, in the past year, the Greater Lansing Food Bank has distributed over 6,000,000 pounds of food to 7 counties!  50% of that was just in Ingham County alone.  Additionally, there are over 1600 volunteers that have provided over 25,000 hours of support over the year. I thoroughly enjoyed volunteering at the Greater Lansing Food Bank, and am amazed by all of the great work that they do every day.
