Rachael Savoie, Human Resources Specialist at Elder Law of Michigan
On August 21, 2019, Elder Law of Michigan will honor Dustin S. Foster with the 2019 Joe D. Sutton Call to Justice Award.
The Joe D. Sutton Call to Justice Awards honor those that share the mission of Elder Law of Michigan, Inc. to advocate for, educate, and assist those in need, with a continued focus on older adults and persons with disabilities.
Ron Tatro, Vice President of Elder Law of Michigan, said, “In his role as an elder law attorney, Dustin has worked with a countless number of seniors to help them craft a legal course that will ensure a better life.”
A Professor of Law at Western Michigan University (WMU) Cooley Law School, Dustin S. Foster is the Director of both the Family Law Assistance Project (FLAP) and the Estate Planning Clinic (EPC).
FLAP and EPC are collaborations between Lakeshore Legal Aid and WMU Cooley Law School. Prior to joining the faculty at WMU Cooley Law School in 2008, Mr. Foster was an associate attorney with Bernick, Omer, Radner & Ouellette, P.C., practicing in the areas of estate planning, probate, elder law, and family law.
He is a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, the American Bar Association, the State Bar of Michigan, and the Oakland County Bar Association. He is also a Michigan Bar Foundation Fellow and an Oakland County Bar Foundation Fellow. Mr. Foster is a co-author of LexisNexis Practice Guide: Michigan Estate Planning (Matthew Bender, 2018) and a recipient of the Institute of Continuing Legal Education Probate and Estate Planning Certificate.

Rachael Savoie serves as Human Resources Specialist at Elder Law of Michigan and has been a member of the Elder Law of Michigan team since 2013. As a Human Resources Specialist, Rachael serves as the link between the organization’s management and its employees. She also directs and coordinates the administrative functions for Elder Law of Michigan.
