Although she prefers to work behind the scenes, Kim Hill is a strong component of the wheels that keep our office turning. As a member of the Elder Law of Michigan team for 13 years, Kim is a wealth of knowledge about the history of our organization. Her tenure grants her the title of second longest-serving team member. Here are some interesting insights into her life.
Before working at Elder Law of Michigan, what was the most unusual or interesting job you’ve ever had?
About 20 years ago I was living in Phoenix, Arizona. While there, I worked for two different overnight film developing companies, Fuji and Kodak. Thousands of rolls of film came in every night that were processed, printed, packaged and shipped back out all over Arizona and parts of New Mexico and Nevada. I worked in several areas, but most of my time was spent cutting and packaging the prints and negatives. I saw a lot of interesting things! One of my favorites was the photos of the hot air balloon festival held in Albuquerque. I looked forward to seeing those pictures every year.
Best vacation you’ve been to?
I have two awesome vacations that tie for first place. One of them was my dream vacation; someplace I never thought I would make it to: Hawaii. It was so beautiful! My other awesome vacation was my children’s first visit to Disney World. We all had so much fun!
What do you like to do in your spare time?
Most of my spare time is spent playing with my children: swimming, nature walks, bike rides, and putting together Lego sets. I also enjoy going to movies and reading when I can.
How would you describe your day job to a child?
My five-year-old son describes my day as: “typing on the computer, talking on the phone and helping the elderly”.
